Future Electronics becomes U.S. TI distributorFuture Electronics has expanded its relationship with TI to become an authorized distributor in the United States. Previously authorized only in Canada, Future will under the new agreement sell Texas Instruments semiconductor products throughout the United States and Canada, beginning March 1. Future is the world's fourth largest industrial electronics distributor, and TI's No. 1 distributor in Canada. The company, employing more than 5,200 people, specializes in the sale of semiconductors and passive and electro-mechanical components, and operates in more than 80 major market centers in North and South America, Europe and Asia. "This is a natural step in our relationship with Future," said John Simari, director of TI's North American Distribution. "We have a history of aligning with the best distributors in the business, and Future has been a critical component of that strategy for 24 years. We have dynamic growth plans in 1998. The addition of Future to our strong existing distributor lineup allows TI to realistically achieve those goals, without diluting the focus of our existing channel relationships." "Future Electronics is world-renowned for the reliability of its service, for its state-of-the-art electronic commerce, automated inventory replenishment programs, for the broad range and depth of its inventory and for its world-class personnel training programs," said E. Stephen Segal, Future's executive vice president and chief operating officer. "We look forward to applying those skills for Texas Instruments customers." |
