$100 million venture capital fund seeds fresh ideas

As the world leader in DSP and analog solutions, Texas Instruments is interested in bright ideas and new products that complement TI’s core technology and fulfill the growing market demand for new DSP applications.

To address this challenge, TI teamed with Hambrecht and Quist Venture Associates in 1996 to create TI Ventures, part of a $100 million venture capital initiative. The fund is focused on embedded software and/or hardware applications that leverage DSP and other related technologies. Thus far, 23 companies have earned financial backing from TI Ventures.

TI Ventures is a unique partnership, offering portfolio companies a powerful combination of resources. By combining TI’s global resources with H&Q’s market expertise, the fund provides more than just dollars. TI supports portfolio companies with value-added resources such as market knowledge, customer and partner contacts, management referrals, technical insight and financial advice.
