Programmable dual 12-bit voltage output DACA new programmable dual 12-bit voltage output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) offering high speed and low power is now available from Texas Instruments. This device, which expands TIÕs DAC product family, is well-suited for applications such as digital servos, machine and motion controls and communications systems. This device, designated the TLC5618, features programmable settling time versus power dissipation for power-sensitive applications. In fast mode, the device has a settling time of 2.5uS and dissipates 8mW of power. In slow mode, the power dissipation is reduced to 3mW and settling time is increased to 12.5uS. A software programmable power-down mode further reduces supply current to 1uA. A 3-wire serial interface is provided for easy interface to DSPs and microcontrollers. The serial data is specified for operation up to 20 MHz clock rate, meeting the needs of new high-speed serial ports. The 16-bit digital data input can be updated at rates up to 1.2 MHz. The TLC5618 is now available from TI and its authorized distributors.
Suggested resale pricing in U.S. dollars in 1K quantity.
