'AD50 evaluation kit

An evaluation kit is now available to test the performance of the TLC320AD50 analog interface circuit (AIC), a versatile 16-bit sigma-delta analog front end for modem and business audio applications.

The evaluation module (EVM ) allows users to experience all of the capabilities of the 'AD50, and it provides a complete Digital Signal Processing Solutions (DSPS) development platform when combined with the TMS320C54x DSKplus (DSP Starter Kit).

Once connected by the synchronous serial interface, users can experiment with the sample programs included or download and debug other C and assembly programs. The kit also includes a data manual and applications report that describes the board, usage techniques and how to connect to the 'C54x DSKplus.

The 'AD50 features master/slave capability with support for up to three slaves, allowing this device to be used in multiple AIC applications such as voice-enabled modems. It also provides differential outputs that can drive a 600 ohm differential load, along with excellent noise performance with typical signal-to-total harmonic distortion ratio of 90 dB and typical signal-to-noise ratio of 89 dB. Finally, it provides a 3-V interface, power down mode and low power dissipation of only 120 mW typical, making it ideal for battery-operated equipment and interfacing to 3-V TMS320 DSPs.

Order the 'AD50 EVM (US $75) and the 'C54x DSKplus (US $149) by calling 1-800-477-8924, ext. 5800. For more information, see http://www.ti.com/sc/mspevms.
