2.5-V SOT-23 supervisor with watchdog timer![]() Two new families of microprocessor supervisory circuits combine precision supply voltage monitoring with a watchdog timer and a manual reset. The TPS3823-xx and the TPS3824-xx families are the only fixed 2.5-V supervisors available in a micro-sized SOT-23 package. This feature, coupled with low power consumption, makes the supervisory circuits ideal for digital signal processor (DSP) and portable battery-powered applications such as laptop computers, personal digital assistants (PDAs), wireless telephones, computer games and portable test systems. Both families are made up of four devices with different voltage ratings of 2.5 V, 3.0 V, 3.3 V and 5.0 V. The TPS3823 device features a manual reset capability, while the TPS3824 device has the flexibility of generating a reset with either a high voltage or a low voltage signal, depending on the needs of the processor. During system power up, the Reset output becomes active at 1.1 V. Reset threshold voltages are accurate to 2 percent. The TPS3823/4 devices are fabricated using TI's advanced LinBiCMOS process. They are available now from TI and authorized distributors.
